Deloris James, JD/PhD, has been a professor of Business and Communication for over ten years.  She has also practiced law in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, the states in which she has held bar membership since 1988. She has taught at schools such as Johns Hopkins University, the University of Maryland, College Park, and the University of Maryland University College, where she also functioned as the Director of the Women-in-Business Program, Assistant Director of Business Administration, Management Studies, Legal Business, and Acting Director of Human Resource Management.  Dr. James has received extensive leadership training in programs sponsored by the American Council on Education and has presented papers on her research related to the Qualities and Characteristics of Successful Women-of-Color Business and Educational Leaders.  She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Management at Howard University, where she teaches a graduate MBA course, and also maintains a solo practice.  Dr. James serves as Vice Chairman for the Harlem Remembrance Foundation Board of Directors.
