Chairman Emeritus of the Harlem Remembrance Foundation, Inc., where she served as Chairman of the Board from 2003 – 2011. Ms. Bailey is a former Councilwoman for Prince George’s County, Maryland. Through Ms. Bailey’s vision and leadership, the Prince George’s Harlem Remembrance Foundation has grown to become one of the most well respected community-based organizations for history, cultural arts and education in the County. Ms. Bailey began the Harlem Renaissance Festival as a way to highlight the significant contributions of African Americans to “American Life” during Harlem Renaissance Era, as well as, showcasing the the numerous men, women, teenagers and children in Prince George’s County who continue the illustrious legacy of the Harlem Renaissance everyday.
