As Chairman of the Harlem Renaissance Festival, I am excited and pleased to announce the 13th Year of one of the best community events in our County. This year the festival will be held on Saturday, May 5th, at the Kentland/Columbia Park Community Center. We will be celebrating our dedication to heightening the historical awareness and cultural significance of the Harlem Renaissance Era, with our theme, “Our History & Experiences…What Have We Learned?” The goal of the festival is to promote, educate, and cultivate the essence of African-Americans in literature, the performing and fine arts, social engagement, politics and education, through the celebration of the Harlem Renaissance Era -- one of the most creatively prolific and intellectually significant periods in modern history for African-Americans and indeed the world
