The Harlem Renaissance Festival quickly grew from the small tented outdoor event to what it is today, one of the region’s premier multidisciplinary showcase festivals for visual and performing arts, history and current event discussions, all in  a  family friendly centered venue that attracts more than 12,000 festival-goers for this special one day event. Despite our rapid growth, the Festival’s mission to connect the community to arts, history and culture of the historic Harlem Renaissance Era has remained consistent throughout the event’s 13-year history.

Today,  the scope of the Annual Harlem Renaissance Festival is centered around delivering strong  cultural programming that has been nurtured and vitalized through the collaborative participation of our entire community. The Harlem Renaissance Festival is dedicated to the conviction that we must built strong minds in our children so that they may have the opportunity to define their role in society based on positive truths and knowledge of their heritage and the many significant contributions of the African American to American culture as we know it today.
